Elmira Blaikie 1870-1945 Elmira Ogilvie Webster was born on August 6, 1870, and died on January 9, 1945. She married David Morrison Blaikie and they had 10 children. She kept a diary for much of her life, from 1891 until Christmas Eve, 1944 - the day before she suffered a stroke that claimed her life. Her journals were preserved by daughters Flossie and Edith in Alberta for many years. The diaries were returned to Nova Scotia in 2001 and have been typed by Judy Miller of Upper Stewiacke, her great granddaughter. Originals are preserved by the Colchester Historical Museum in Truro, Nova Scotia. Elmira Blaikie obituary |
